Foundry at the factory
In 1826 Saint-Petersburg Alexandrovsky Ironworks, now Proletarsky zavod JSC, started its operation by launching a new foundry.
With the assistance of the Alexandrovsky craftsmen of founding, including art founding, during the first two decades of enterprise’s work many building units and metal decors were produced for a whole number of the most famous monuments and architectural structures of Saint-Petersburg and its suburbia: the Winter Palace, the Mariinsky Palace, the Alexandrinsky Theatre, the Arch of the General Staff Building, the Narva and the Moscow Triumphal Gates, the arches of Troitsky, Smolny and Preobrazhensky Cathedrals, Gothic Chapel (Peterhof), Egyptian gates (Pushkin) etc.
Besides the enterprise took part in expansion of many cast iron bridges in Saint-Petersburg: Malo-Konushenny, Teatralny, Policejsky, Pevchesky, Siniy, Blagoveschensky, producing for them both building units and decorations.
During the Soviet Union the foundry of the plant produced castings for such large-scale enterprises as «Nevsky zavod», «Kirovsky zavod», «Russian diesel», «Izorsky zavod», «Press-forging machinery works» (Azov) etc.
Nowadays plant’s foundry produces mainly castings for marine, energy and general engineering under intrafactory cooperation.
Production potentialities of the foundry:
• Rigging production under drafts and press molds under dispensable patterns;
• Castings production with necessary mechanical and hydraulic testing;
• Production of large-size castings (up to diameter=1600 mm);
• Refining of non-ferrous scrap metals and boring with following teeming
